CHANGING NAMES

Welcome to the Centre Fellowship Web site. We are the process of changing our name from Orangeville Christian Fellowship to Centre Fellowship Church. This allows us to be identified with our new facility called “Centre”. Each ministry or facility in the Centre will also be connected using the name; Centre Café, The COPING Centre, Centre Theatre and so on. Our hope is that the facility would be become a centre of activity, community and life.

Central to our hope is the cross of Jesus Christ and this is represented by the “T” of the word centre. In our logo the “T” extends its arms across the word symbolizing Christ welcoming everyone and inviting them to come to him. Our prayer is that we could reflect Christ’s love through our facility, fellowship and friendship. This month we are looking at what it means to be a generous people.

Is 32: 8 Generous people plan to do what is generous and they stand firm in their generosity.

Generous people give of their time, resources and talent simply for the joy of giving. They give graciously, willingly and simply. Generous people plan to be generous and stand over their generous plans. Join us as we look into this topic each Sunday morning.

This month we will be celebrating Father’s day with some special items and then on June 27 we will hold our annual picnic at the Christian School as part of our Sunday service. Please join us for celebration and community.

As we move into the summer months please note that each home group will have different schedules. Please check in with your home group leaders for meeting nights.

Youth is cancelled through the summer.

The Ireland mission team will be away from the last week of July to the first week in August.

We will be holding two beach days for fun and fellowship; the first on July 12, the second on August 9. We will meet in the car park at McDonalds for 9.30am start. You can join us at the Beach 3 in Wasaga.

We will be helping Big Brothers and Sisters to run their fundraising softball tournament on 17 July. We need people to help with BBQ and serving the participants from 10.30am to 2.00pm. Please speak to Marina if you can help. This is a fantastic opportunity for the church to connect with the community.

Lydia is planning to be back in Canada from July 8 and hopes to visit after 15 July until the middle of August. We are not sure if Shawn can make it at this point. Please pray for them and for their need for a new computer.

Looking forward to September, Howard Katz will be teaching on Sunday, 12 September. Howard is a board member for Lost and Found, the charity that works with the orphanage in Arriaga, Mexico. He is an excellent Bible teacher with a unique sense of humour, not unlike Steve's.

We will be starting the marriage seminars "Laugh your way to a better marriage" on 6 September; information will follow. Please contact the office if you wish to attend.
