Though currently meeting at the Orangeville Christian School, we are excited to be in the building process of our new home at the Centre (Corner of Blind Line and Hansen Blvd in Orangeville).

Our new building will house a Fair Trade Cafe, theatre rental space for the community, and our church.

We had more rain then we would have liked or needed in June, so it made for some muddy conditions, but we still saw much accomplished. Our rubber roof is complete with all air handling units in place on top. The finishing coat of concrete was poured on the top floor and also the base for our front entrance and stairs. Plumbing is well underway as well as the interior walls in the café. All window frames in the stairs and top floor are installed and the glass is now installed in the large windows. Work on the lower floor is being aided by the recent dry weather. Please pray for favour with the weather and wisdom & safety for all.

What a busy month!  Window frames are in and the brick choice is finalized... Now don't get excited.  This picture is not the finished building but a mock up of the colour we have chosen on a drawing of the building plan.  What do you think?  We can't wait to see the real thing.

Our staff also spent two days doing preliminary planning for the function of the Centre when we open its doors.  Grand Openings, conferences, community space, children's programs... We could not be more excited about the vision God is growing!

Most of May was spent looking at the exterior... walls going up and brick being debated!  We are excited at how fast things are moving and still pushing for our goal of home for Christmas!

 

April was a busy month at the Centre. The interior block walls and elevator shaft have been completed. Except for the front canopy, the steel is also completed. The distinct shape of the building is now apparent. Our mechanical contractor has started preparing the roof for the air handing systems. During May we should see the completion of the front entrance, canopy and roof with the exterior walls going into place also. We continue to have unprecedented favor with the weather. Your continued prayers are appreciated for everyone involved.

And then there was steel!  Lining up with our week of prayer and fasting, our home at the Centre is quickly taking shape as Shannon Steele builds onto the beautiful foundation!  You can almost smell the coffee brewing in our cafe!  Plans are rapidly updating as the committee members meet to prioritize, pick appliances and discuss function!

Work on site has been able to continue with some of the most favorable  weather conditions on record. All of the west, south and north concrete walls of our new Sanctuary have been poured. A local company, Shannon Steel Inc., was selected as our steel fabricator & erector who will begin work in March.
