CFC History

History of Centre Fellowship Church

Centre Fellowship Church (CFC) is an independent, Spirit-filled church located at 375 Hansen Boulevard, on the north side of Orangeville, Ontario. CFC was planted by Steve and Yvonne Cummings as Orangeville Vineyard Christian Fellowship in November 1994 as a result of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Toronto Airport Vineyard Christian Fellowship (TACF).
When TACF disassociated from the Vineyard movement and dropped ‘Vineyard’ from its name, this church followed suit and Pastor Cummings instigated the creation of the Partners In Harvest fellowship of churches. CFC stepped back to ‘Friends In Harvest’ status in 2010 and changed its name to CFC.

CFC opened its current location in February 2011. The building is street-level, multi-functional, with an operating café, and features large areas of window to convey light, openness, invitation and transparency. The location is residential with two elementary schools two blocks away, and a high school five blocks to the south.

After serving faithfully as founding and senior pastor for 18 years, Pastor Cummings stepped down in February 2013, leading into an interim period. During this time the church was led by the Leadership Team and Board, under the guidance of interim Pastors Terry Bone of Grimsby, ON, followed by David&Charmaine Hicks of Stratford, ON.
In May of 2017, CFC was pleased to welcome full time Lead Pastor, Vince Vanderveen. Voting membership is vested in the Leadership Team and Board of Directors, with the expectation to keep the congregation apprised.
