There are some great ideas online if you do a search for "creative worship ideas" Some sites are: www.nailscars.com - look under "random ideas" www.thewibsite.com/faith/alttext.htm - 60 ideas and principles. www.ccn-online.org.uk - a list of creative worship ideas specifically for small groups. Worship Haikus | Food is always an easy icebreaker. High/Low- what were the best and worst things about this past week Growth Question- Ask something challenging-Laura has a list if you need suggestions. Three Wishes- You can change any three things about your life. What would you change and why? Marooned- Divide the group in half. Your group is going to be marooned on a deserted island and can only bring 5 items. Defend your choices. Signature collecting mixer-Works in a larger group- Distribute a list of experiences or items, such as "someone with blue socks", "someone who has been to 14 countries" etc. Each person scrambles to find someone in the room who fits each description and collect signatures. Interview- Have the group divide into pairs. Conduct interviews then regroup and have each person introduce the person that they interviewed to the rest of the group. Driveway- Have each person describe their perfect driveway. Explain how they relate to people based on their description. Truth and Lies- Have each person share 3 truths and one lie and the group will guess which one is not true. Associations- Take various items and attach a piece of string to each. Place the items in an opaque container with the strings dangling out. Each person picks one and finds spiritual significance in it to share with the group. Some examples are salt, bread, yeast, seeds.****could be used as creative worship. Weather Report- Explain how your week has gone in the form of a weather report. ie"partly cloudy" Me Too!- Everyone writes a list of 10 things about them. They get a point for every match in the group, the person with the most points wins. | Always have a chance to pray specifically. Some creative ways to inspire. (borrowed from Heather Kennedy): Have the group assemble a puzzle. Flip the puzzle over. Each person writes their own name on one piece and the name of someone they are praying for on another. The idea is to continue praying for this person until they know Jesus personally and the puzzle will be complete. Hand out bandaids. Have each person ask God for an idea to bless the person they are praying for. Then they have to wear the bandaid until they have accomplished the idea. Play a cd that inspires prayer for the lost. Provide candles that each person can light to represent the one that they are praying for. Together the group can brainstorm some "sowing one" ideas that specifically reach out to people connected to the group. Some small group nights could be changed to accomodate these ideas. For example, going to the movies, having a dinner party, playing golf etc..... |
