Cafe Consultation 2026

CFC Café Update 2026

Dear CFC Community,

We adore the café space and the many people who come through it every week. We are incredibly grateful for the dedicated staff, past and present, who have served there so faithfully. We are also grateful for all those in the community and wider church body that have supported the café over the years it has been open. After some significant information came to our attention in a recent audit, the board and leadership of Centre Fellowship Church are currently examining the future of Centre Café.

A recent audit report showed that the café was costing much more than we had expected. Through that same audit it was also flagged to us that the café had to be more aligned with the overall mission of CFC. The ongoing need for more staff and volunteers and the major demand on the building, which costs more each year, drove the board and leadership to a time of discussion and prayer. After several meetings, prayer times, fasting, and seeking the Lord, we have unanimously felt a calling on us to lay the café down and to seek God’s vision for the future of that space.

This is not a decision we take lightly so we currently desire to test that decision by consulting the rest of our church community. We know how important the cafe is to our congregation and the wider community. We'd like to encourage you to reach out to us - in person, by phone, or through the anonymous feedback link below. We will prayerfully listen to and read all comments on this significant decision.

As the board and leadership, we desire nothing other than to discern God’s will and walk in obedience with him and our community at CFC. We will outline our final decision in a detailed letter to follow this consultation period.

Presently, the expected closure date of the café is Friday, December 18th.

Yours, faithfully and in Christ,

The Board and Leadership of Centre Fellowship Church
